Struggle

Finally got myself settle down to do a painting other than sketching. Today's feature is a super anorexic Ariel from The little Mermaid. Yes, it's my own version of Ariel. Had really fun time creating this version...making her look bony and sort of ugly, painting the rib cage which looks kind of wrong... The picture is pretty huge though.

A world where looks is the priority. But...
What about kindness?
What about talent?
What about intelligence?
What about diligence?
What about...character?

A world where we are brought up by the media that looks is everything. A handsome prince always goes after a beautiful girl, they kissed and happily ever after. They gave us a dream, but a dream that is unreachable unless you do plastic surgery. But so what if you can change your original face to another nicer face? In the end, emptiness always catches up with you.

An artificial beauty. What about it? One day that face will grow old and wrinkly, just like your original face. Why place your money onto something that will fade away?

Will Prince Eric still want Ariel if she doesn't have the looks when he first met her? Will Ariel get the kiss she wants when she can't talk?
